Teacher Gift

This week was Teacher Appreciation Week at my oldest daughters school, so this is what I made for her 2nd grade teacher! I hope she likes it! I have had this stamp set (Pocket Silhouettes) for a while now and FINALLY got to ink it today! It is such a nice simple set, so I decided to make a very simple card with it. I hope you like it! I loved making this card! I got part of the idea from SCS with the red rhinestones on the tree. I think the bling makes it. I also used the Scor-Pal to create the raised lines to frame the ribbon. And I must stay the SU! Kraft cardstock is my favorite!!!

Star Tag

I got these kraft stars from the CKC Convention this past August. I liked them because they are flat on the back, so I thought they would make great gift toppers. I took Real Red (SU!) ink and sponged the ink onto the front of the star and then on the other side made the to/from tag. My original thought was to cover the front of the stars with patterned paper, but that did not go over too well, so I went with the ink instead.

My new favorite find...

So I still have not crafted anything lately, but here is one of my new finds for ribbon. I just LOVE it!!! I found this at www.stampingbella.com. I believe it comes in blue as well, but PINK is my favorite color, so of course I HAD to get that one. This bag holds a TON of ribbon and I highly recommend picking one up. It saves SO much room without having the ribbon on cardboard cards or the rolls they come on. Let me know if you get one too and what color you pick :-)

Christmas in July!

I made this card back in January. My friends and I have a Christmas card challenge and each month we make 10 or so cards so by October we are done. We swap a card with everyone too so we get new fresh ideas from each other as well. Like I said, I made this back in January and now forget most of the products I used. However, the stamp set that was used is called Big on Christmas from Stampin' Up.

I have some bad news -- I broke my camera yesterday :-( I was trying to take a picture from our 2 story foyer and dropped it all the way down and onto the hardwood floor. I just wanted to let you know that I will not be posting until I can get a new camera. But I assure you I will be back once I get that taken care of. I am SO bummed. It was only about a year old :-(

Bitty Baby Blessings Gift Set

Here is the set of 8 note cards I made for my daughters 1st grade teacher as a baby gift. I had SO much FUN making these cards! (Thanks Elisabeth for letting me borrow the stamp set -- I will be ordering this set ASAP!).

I stamped the onesie & elephant images onto the pattern paper and then cut them out and adhered them with dimensionals to the embossed scallop circles. For the elephants I also paper pieced their ears and adhered them with dimensionals. It is a little hard to see in the photo, but under each scallop circle is the sentiment "adorable" stamped in the same color as the cardstock.

I am hoping they can use them as thank you notes for some of the gifts they receive. Thanks for looking :-)

It's A Boy!

My daughters 1st grade teacher just had a new addition to his family last week, so this is for him & his wife. I still need to make a set of note cards for her to take in too as his gift. You will hopefully get to see those in the next couple of days.

This card was inspired by many of the cards I have seen with the squares of pattern paper across the front of the card. To dress it up a bit I added two score lines with my Scor-Pal above & below the pattern paper. (It is kind of hard to see those lines in the photo.) The pattern paper you can print FREE from www.papertreyink.com this month to sample the new Bitty Blessing Pattern paper. It is even more adorable in person! I then added the matching satin ribbon and the star is raised up on dimensionals. I used the word window punch for the sentiment, but stuck it back through the punch again to shorten it.

Twinkle Fairy

My friend Michelle let me stamp up some of her new fairies from the Chichiboulie line from www.stampingbella.com. They are ADORABLE!!! I am addicted to coloring them with my Copic markers. This one is called Twinkle Fairy. I used a clear Spica glitter pen on parts of the image, but it is hard to see. If you double click on the picture you may be able to see it a little. The pattern paper also has glittery stars. So I thought it paired nicely with the image.

Here is a card that I submitted to Papertrey Ink for their May Guest Star Stamper challenge. I made this card AS SOON as I got the Garden of Life stamp set and have been waiting to post it until today. I did not win the challenge, but there is always a chance that Nicole will include me in the honorable mentions. She was looking for a project that best utilized the Garden of Life stamp set (which was released in April). As soon as I looked at the set I saw the solid image that you can layer with the spiral rose and saw a peach. So that is what I created, a summer peach. I hope you can tell that is what it is supposed to be...LOL!!! I wanted to create some "peach fuzz" so to speak, so I used my handy dandy SU! edge distresser for all of the square pieces and I inked the distressed edge of the white cardstock with the focal image. This is a card made with todays card sketch challenge from www.splitcoaststampers.com. It is # SC176. I have been dying to use two new goodies - one is the cupcake pattern paper you see here and the other is the It's A Celebration stamp set from www.papertreyink.com. This card was definitly a challenge for me. I usually do not use colors this bright, but I just LOVE the paper. I was going to use a cupcake image, but thought that it would be overboard, so I went with the present. Now I am thinking that image is too large, but it is done now. This will probably be a card I use for one of my daughters friends when a birthday rolls around. I have to say I was not sure about that stamp set, but it was SO much FUN to play with! Hi Everyone! I know it has been a LONG time since I posted anything, but I have been super busy with life in general and then I was getting ready for a 3 day scrapbooking retreat that I was at this past weekend. It is quite a bit of work to get all of my projects/supplies together, but well worth it because I got ALOT done! Shown below is a chipboard album that I put together for my MIL for Mother's Day, now all that is left is to add photos and embellishments. The other photo below was one of the layouts I did at the retreat. I am hoping to get some crafting done this week that I will be able to share with you. I hope you ALL have a wonderful day :-)

FINALLY...we are having a beautiful, sunny & warm day here in Pennsylvania!!! And FINALLY...a card that came from my OWN idea and not inspired by someone else's!!! It has been a while :-) I knew I wanted to make a bright fun card, use Bali Breeze DSP that had yet to be opened and the felt flowers that matched, that also had yet to be opened. And I was not in the mood to stamp, so I wanted to use rub-ons. The above is what came out of ALL I wanted to use. I guess you could call it a "homemade challenge" versus a challenge from Splitcoast Stampers...LOL!!! So here is another challenge for you and I hope you play along... We will call it TPFHC1 for Two Pink Fairies Homemade Challenge #1. Here are the guidelines - Use ANY patterned paper that has NOT seen the light of day yet, Rub-On's versus Stamps, and ANY embellishment that also has NOT seen the light of day! I know you are probably thinking "Wow, she was stuck in Summer with Tart & Tangy and now she is posting a Christmas card, how CRAZY is that!!!"...LOL!!! Well, here is the story - My girlfriends and I do a Christmas card swap once a month so that we have our cards done by October and don't have to worry about them at the last minute. So we each make 10 or so a month and give each other one that we make and keep the rest for our own stash. So the reason why I am sharing this card with you NOW is because it can work with ANY of the Lots of Thoughts sentiments (or any sentiment of your choice) and with ANY patterned paper. That is why I love it! I also love the simple, clean look. I have seen many cards on SCS done in this style and could not wait to try it myself. Here is the other treat box I promised I would share with you. This one uses mainly Papertrey Ink products. I used two of their new stamp sets for this project. I have a wedding business selling wedding invitations, accessories & favors that I am planning on re-starting soon. So this is a little favor I made to use as a sample. The sentiment says - Perfect Blend and it has coffee beans inside a clear bag. I love the monochromatic look and do do that too much, but I think it works for this.

Tart & Tangy Treat Box

I was lucky enough the other day to get to make some SU! make n' takes. One of them was a little treat box, so I made one to match the tote I posted yesterday. Thanks to LeAnne over at Wee Inklings for teaching me how to make these cute little things. You can find the link to her blog on the sidebar.

All you have to do is cut a 5x5 square, score it at 1 1/2" on all 4 sides and glue the box together, then decorate it just the way you want! I used my new Scor-Pal to score the box and it was easy as pie! I have another treat box to show you tomorrow, so stay tuned!

Tart & Tangy Tote

How cute is this tote? I followed the tutorial from a blog called Toy's Haven (http://toyzhaven.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2008/03/04/toys-haven-card-box-tutorial/). It was so FUN to make! I will be making 4 standard size cards with matching envelopes to fit inside. They will each have one of the fruits on them from the NEW Tart & Tangy stamp set. The strawberry on the front of the tote is from the Tart & Tangy stamp set. I stamped the strawberry in Real Red and then stamped it again in Old Olive and paper pieced the green stem over the red. It is easy to do and gives it just a little more dimension. The image is also raised with dimensionals which makes it pop a little more. What you can't see in the photo is that I faux stitched the handles all the way around with the white gel pen. It is such a FUN, BRIGHT & HAPPY project! Thanks for stopping by :-)

This is a swap card I made using the Spring Solitude Bundle (Level 2 Hostess Set). I was not sure about this set when I first saw it, but after using it I REALLY like it. It is worth earning it for FREE!!! I used a color combo that was a recent SCS challenge - River Rock, Basic Black & Whisper White. As soon as I saw that combo I knew I wanted to make a card with those colors. It is a very classy combo. This card is 4x4 in size. I got the inspiration from another SCS'er.

But doesn't this make you WISH for SUMMER!!! We went to Myrtle Beach, SC for Easter (which is a 10 hour drive - UGH!) to visit my Mom & Step-Dad who just had a house built there. Even though the drive was long it was worth it. The girls had a blast. Their favorite part was flying the kite! We can't wait to go back this summer :-)

1. I live in Thorndale, PA, but my hometown is Charlotte, NC!
2. My favorite color is PINK!
3. My favorite foods are chocolate, donuts and down home southern cooking - YUM!
4. I am a full-time stay-at-home Mom to my 2 girls.
5. I love to volunteer at my oldest daughters elementary school and my little one's preschool. With all the time I put into both of them I could be RICH and have TONS more scrapping & stamping supplies...LOL!!! But I love it and would not trade it for a thing.
6. My major in college was Fashion Merchandising/Business. I guess that is why I LOVE to put different patters/colors of paper together. It is like playing with fabrics!
7. The one thing I miss most from my childhood is going to Lake Wylie in NC on our family boat.

Easter Treats

These treats were all made for my Mom & Step-Dad :-) We will be going to their house for Easter and seeing the house they just had built in Myrtle Beach, SC! I can't wait. The girls are just a "little" excited too...LOL!!!

The bag is from Papertrey Ink and is filled with my Mom's favorite coffee beans - Chocolate Raspberry! The large stamped image I got when I placed an order from Eclectic Paperie, as well as the main image that was used on the nugget box. The other two stamps used on the bag was an Easter egg from SU Tag Time (retired) set and the sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Mixed Messages stamp set. The colors used were Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava & Soft Sky. I used matching Copics to color in the main image.

I used a clear card box from Papertrey Ink to create the nugget box. I saw someone else do this and thought that it was so cleaver. It is great when giving to someone who may not use the more expensive nugget tins again. It also holds 18 nuggets versus 12. The nuggets used for this project are all Hershey's Special Dark w/ Almonds, which are also one of my Mom's favorites! The colors are again Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava & Soft Sky. I used matching Copics to color in the main image. The ribbon is SU's Whisper White Thin Grosgrain and Soft Sky Double Stitched Grosgrain. I used Avery Labels to create my nugget wrappers with Papertrey Ink's Limitless Labels stamp set.

My girls made the lollipops for them and I made the little tags from an Elzybell image my friend Elisabeth let me stamp up. The sentiment again is from Papertrey Ink's Mixed Messages stamp set.

Sorry I have not posted in a while. I can't believe it has been over a week - YIKES!!! I have had no time to papercraft lately :-( But the girls and I have been busy today making some chocolate Easter pops! YUM! The girls have spring break this week so I have been trying to come up with some activities so they do not kill each other. This project was a HUGE hit!!!

I am just loving all the new Papertrey Ink products and want to make sure I use them and not hoard them until something else new comes along and then it really gets neglected...LOL!!! I am sure you all have fallen into the scenario :-) I really enjoyed making this card and especially love the bow! I am a ribbon addict and this ribbon is YUMMY!!! I also like the smaller size of the card. It is 3 1/4 x 5 1/2. I tend to always make standard size cards and it can get boring, so I wanted to change it up.

I thought Friendship Blooms was a PERFECT set to use to re-create the ribbon! The colors I used in the new card are Chocolate Chip, Groovy Guava, Soft Sky & White. The stamp set is Friendship Blooms from the Sale-A-Bration brochure and the sentiment is from the Love & Happiness Rub-ons in Chocolate Chip, also from the SAB brochure.

I rec'd these projects yesterday from a wonderfully talented friend! She filled the mailbox with a friendship sentiment stamp and chocolates. She made sure to use my favorite colors - Pink & Green! It made my day when I opened the package and found these wonderful treats!!! The card is just amazing. The photo does not do it justice. The detail is impecable. She paper pieced the dress, bow on the dress and EVEN the headband. There is glitter on the heart and she used Nestibilities for the scalloped oval - that was also embossed. So thanks again Michelle! These little treats were made for my daughters teachers. The small square container was for my one daughters 1st grade teacher. She has a male teacher, so that is why his is not too fancy. I used Happy Heart Day by SU! for the inside card and underneath the card are Hershey Kisses! I made two identical nugget tins for my younger daughters preschool teachers. The tag stamp on the top and the stitched ribbon are from SU!, but the inside stamps are from Papertrey Ink's Limitless Labels set. The color combo is SU! Ruby Red & Groovy Guava. I had so much fun making those nugget wrappers. YAY for Nicole Heady's creative designs over at Papertrey Ink! They are FAST becoming my favorites!

These little treats were made for my 3 year old to give to her preschool friends. She has her party tomorrow, so we are all ready! She picked out the stamp and wanted me to color them for her. She does not have the patience my other daughter has for things like this. She was very happy with them and can't wait to share them with her friends. I taped the cards to the lollipops. But first she needed to know if there was one for her too :-) And of course, there is.

My friend Lori (also an SU Demo) was so sweet to give me this card to use as a sample to show one of the Sale-A-Bration stamp sets. She is also having her workshop guests make this card as well. I know they will LOVE it! She used Certainly Celery cardstock & wide grosgrain ribbon, the new Ginger Blossoms Designer Series Paper and the So Many Scallops Sale-A-Bration stamp set. She punched the center of the flower out and popped it up with a dimensional. It is a very sweet card. Thanks again Lori!!!

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR 3 YEAR OLD UNATTENDED WITH UNMOUNTED STAMPS ON THE COUNTER!!!

So here is the scenario - My 3 year old is in the family room on the sofa watching tv. I run upstairs just long enough to grab my rubber scissors and this is what I come down to... Yes, she peeled off the backing AND mounted two of the stamps...LOL!!! The only good news is she did get them on the correct blocks. She wanted to "help"!!! So that is my funny for the day. I could not resist and HAD to photograph this so that if she ever decides to follow in her mother's foot steps and be a Stampin' Up demonstrator I can tell her she started at a very YOUNG age!!!

This was yesterdays SCS card sketch challenge. I have been dying to use my new Jumbo Outline Alphabet stamp set from Stampin' Up and this was the perfect sketch for it. All products used are from SU! I paper pieced the letters with the blue & white floral patterned paper. These prodcuts were from the Friends and Flowers Simply Scrappin' Kit.

For those of you who do not know how to paper piece, this is what I did -
1. I stamped the letters in a row onto the confetti white cardstock.
2. I stamped the letters on the blue/white floral paper.
3. I then cut out the floral letters just inside the black line.
4. I then glued the floral letters inside the stamped letters on the confetti white paper.

This is such an easy technique and I love the look.

This is a double layout that I made over the weekend of my now 7 year old. She was 21 months in these photos. I used this GREAT All In One Scrapbooking Kit by Creating Keepsakes that my dear friend Elisabeth gave me. I had so much fun with it! The words you see on the layout are all rub-ons that came with the kit as well. I used a layout design from Close To My Hearts Imagine Book to create this 2 page spread. That in itself was a huge help! I also used Stampin' Ups clear buttons and put matching paper behind then and then tied Waxy Flax from Close to My Heart in the button holes. I also used Chocolate brads from Close To My Heart. I hope you like it!

The Sweetest Things

Here are the little trinkets I made for my two girlfriends who went on the Scrapping Getaway with me this past weekend. They both liked them! They were filled with different kinds of Hershey Kisses. I used the new SU Urban West rub-ons to decorate the containers. I used black for the one with the Regal Rose Wide Grosgrain Ribbon and the white for the one with the Real Red Wide Grosgrain Ribbon. The little tins are from Papertrey Ink. They were super easy and quick to throw together!

This box & card set was created with the new Urban West Rub-ons by Stampin' Up. And all I can say is I am IN LOVE with these rub-ons!!! I did not think I would be, but I am having so much FUN with them. Today I created a couple of trinkets with the rub-ons again, but I will have to post those when I get back from my weekend scrapbooking getaway since the trinkets were made for my craftin' buds :-) Anyway, this box gift set is another door prize donation that I am giving to our preschool. This card was inspired by the patterned cardstock given to me by my friend Elisabeth (Thanks E :-). It is by Imaginesce and super nice in person. It is very heavy AND textured! I made 2 cards with this paper and will share the other one with you tomorrow.

I used sketch challenge #159 from www.splitcoaststampers.com for the design. I also stamped extra hearts, cut them out, colored them red and then added red Stickles for some glitz. I only adhered the hearts down the center so that the edges could be raised for a 3-D look. You will see what I mean in the 2nd photo shown above.

I got my new Out on a Limb stamp set (from www.papertreyink.com) yesterday and had to play with it RIGHT away! I am impressed with myself because usually new things sit and sit until they are not NEW anymore...LOL!!! I am sure I am not the only one who feels that way at times. But we had a lazy day at home yesterday, so it gave me a little extra time to play :-) I used www.splitcoaststampers.com card sketch challenge #151 to create this card.

This was a really cool set to work with. I used the dotted overlay and then went through with the single open leaf and added it to some of the branches. I also used the individual 3 dotted stamp with Versamark to stamp the top of the River Rock cardstock. This card is for a friend who surpised me yesterday with the kindest words. I hope she likes it!

I hope you are enjoying your Sunday. I am getting ready to get supplies together for a scrapbooking retreat I am going on next weekend! I just had a great scrapbooking photo op - both of my girls with their lap desks (courtesy of my friend Elisabeth) crafting the day away. I just had to share what they both created. My 7 year old made the card for her friend Alyson and my 3 year old did the coloring page. They have been having so much FUN together this morning and it warms my heart! I am glad they LOVE to do what I do too - that is the added bonus! (Oh, and the "A" was created with the Cuttlekids Machine - Fairy Alphabet).

Cuttle-Pal Note Cards

I made 2 of these sets as donations for door prizes for our preschool fundraiser. There are 4 cards in each set and each card has a different sentiment - Thank You, Love You, Wish Big & Best Wishes. I got the "Cuttle-Pal" name from Sharon Johnson at http://notimetostamp.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ and it means that the Cuttlebug & Scor-Pal were used together to make one card. (Make sure you view her blog for more ideas! She has done some amazing work with both tools!) They were so easy and FUN to make! Thanks to Elisabeth for letting me borrow her Scor-Pal. Valentine Notes

Here is a box set that I donated to our preschool to use as a door prize for our annual Sweetheart Banquet Fundraiser. Thanks to my friend Jill (you can find the link to her blog on the sidebar at Jill's Card Creations) who gave me the idea that the SU small note cards & envelopes fit in these boxes we have had forever! The size of the cards are 5" x 3 1/2" and they fit perfectly. There are 3 each of 2 different color combos for a total of 6 cards & envleopes in the box. I used Twitterpated by SEI to decorate the cards & box. I hope the person who wins likes them! I have more sets that I have donated and will show them later this week.

I made this set of monogrammed note cards for a friend who just received her doctorate degree. I made 10 of them with envelopes and put them in a clear stationery box. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the large chocolate chip piece of cardstock, which made them super easy to make!
