Hats off to you...

I made this graduation card for my little brother who just got his bachelor's degree a semester early! He got his note card set (posted below) and this card today. He LOVED both! My favorite part about this card is the big chocolate chip polka dots!

The inside verse says "Dreams come a size to big so we can grow into them." I thought that was a perfect quote for someone moving to a new chapter in life.

This will be my last post until after the holidays! I will be able to then share some of the other Christmas gifts I made for family & friends.

I wish you all a BLESSED holiday!

Holiday Treats

Here is a nugget tin I made to go with one of the teachers snowman soup & mug. You will notice the band is the matching paper from a previous post. This was super easy to whip up, I just wished I had more nugget tins to make more :-) I used stamps from Papertrey Inks Holiday Treats stamp set. For embelishments I used the Stardust Glitter Pen for the snowflakes and Diamond Dot Stickers (as fake brads) by Stampendous.

All In The Family

This was made as a gift for friends of ours. They have 5 children and that includes a set of 18 mo. old twin girls. I could not wait to make this for their family. It was alot of fun! They also have 2 dogs, but as you can see one is a little lost in the grass...LOL!!! I used the Stampin' Up All In The Family Stamp Set to make this. I have 3 more to show you that I made, but I need to wait until I give them to them first before I post them. I do not want to spoil their surprise! Thanks for looking!

Happy Holidays - The Season of Giving!

I realized that it has been a VERY long time since I have offered any blog candy! So since this is the season of giving I would like to offer one lucky winner a sampling of ALL 16 colors of Stampin' Up Thin Grosgrain Ribbon. I decided to share my addiction of ribbon with someone else...LOL!!! All you have to do is tell me what your favorite cookie is to bake during the holiday season! But be warned I may ask for receipes :-)

My favorite cookie to make is sugar cookies from scratch with LOTS of colored sugar sprinkles!!! I can't wait to hear what yours are!

I will be drawing a random name this coming Friday night (12/21).

Happy Holidays!

You Warm My Heart!

I made this card for a dear friend and had so much FUN with it! This is a great set to get creative with :-) This is probably one of the most detailed cards I have ever made. Here are all the details...

I used glitter striped designer paper for the background and layered it onto Bashful Blue and then Very Vanilla cardstock. The main focal image was colored in with Prismacolor Pencils & Gamsol. I then paper pieced the dress (that is so much fun to do!). I outlined the snowman with Bashful Blue ink and a Blender Pen and added black Stickles to his buttons. I used Diamond Stickles for the snow on the ground and then for the falling snowflakes I used the silver end of the Zig Painty Pen to dot the centers of the snowflakes. The main image is raised with dimensionals as well as the snowflake accent in the corner. And for the snowflake accent I used the silver side of the Zig Painty Pen to outline the edge of the Bashful Blue cardstock and then again for the center of the snowflake. And last but not least, I added 3 rows of ribbon in Bashful Blue & Vanilla Cream.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking!

Products used:
Stamps - Baby It's Cold Outside (My Favorite Things)
Ink - Black & Bashful Blue (SU)
Designer Paper - Glitter Striped & Dotted (Imagineisce)
Cardstock - Bashful Blue & Very Vanilla (SU)
Embellishments - Bashful Blue & Very Vanilla Ribbon, Dimensionals (SU), Black & Diamond Stickles, Zig Painty Pen (SU)
Tools - Prismacolor Pencils & Gamsol, Blender Pen (SU)

You will probably recognize these from a previous post, but I finally got them finished. So here is the completed version. I just love that satin ribbon! I am a ribbon addict and this is so rich & yummy looking :-) I know, you are thinking how can ribbon be yummy, but if you are an addict like myself then you know what I am talking about...LOL!!! Teacher Gifts = Snowman Soup!

First of all, I have to say I would not have been able to make these without Nicole Heady's tutorial from Papertrey Ink. You can visit her blog here - http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/. I am in LOVE with her products! I had so much fun making these! What I love best is the poem inside the lids -

When the weather outside is frightful,
Snowman Soup can be delightful.
May it warm your spirit and your soul.
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

When you feel a chill or 'burrrrr',
Use the peppermint stick to stir.
Add hot water and sip it slow.
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

Each of my girls teachers are getting a snowman mug w/ hershey kiss surprises in the bottom and a canister of snowman soup! I hope they like them! (Click on the images to see more of the detail.)

Oh, and the little tag you see on the front says "Just add 6oz water, stir, sip & enjoy!" I love that part too! I also outlined the edges of the white tag with the Zig painty pen.

Inside each canister is a serving of milk hot chocolate, marshmellows & a peppermint stick - YUM!!!

Happy Holidays!

Products used:
Stamps - Holiday Treats (Papertrey Ink), Snow Spindle Lite (Stampendous) and Nicole's FREE pdf download for the label on the lid and inside poem.
Ink - Bashful Blue (SU)
Patterned Paper - DCWV Christmas Glitter Stack
Cardstock - Bashful Blue (SU)
Embellishments - Misc. Silver Ribbon
Tools - Giga Scallop Punch (Marvy), Coluzzle, Zig Painty Pen (silver)
*8oz. round clear top tins from Papertrey Ink - http://www.papertreyink.com/, Snowman mugs from Walmart.

Super Quick Treats!!!

These are nothing fancy, but they were quick & easy to do! These treats are for my youngest daughters preschool classmates. She filled the bags and I did the rest. I used the Punch Pals stamp set by SU for these, white & green cardstock and silver cord. The kids are only 2 & 3 years old, so they will be good enough for them!

I hope you are all enjoying the holiday season!

I will be back later to show you the teacher gifts that she has to take TOMORROW and I have not even started them...YIKES!!!

More changes...

I wanted to thank all of you who have visited & purchased from my online store. But it has become too time consuming to take care of both blogs. So if you would like to purchase my creations please visit my Etsy store. It is set up in a much better way with a shopping cart feature and much easier to update. I will be adding more and more creations to my Etsy store, so make sure you stop over there often. There is a link to the right you can click on and it will take you directly there.

Thanks again,
Kim

Ornament Tag

This tag was inspired by Sharon Johnson and her Stamp Simply Challenge #12. You can check out Sharon's versions of this tag and a great tutorial at her blog - http://notimetostamp.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/ These are super fun to make and very easy. It is hard to see but I sponged the entire circle with gold ink. You can see it better in person. They also open like a card and you can write inside them. Make sure you visit Sharon's blog to learn how to make these to put on your gifts!

Leave a comment here on my blog if you make these with a link to your versions. I would love to see them :-) If I get time I will make more and post them as well.

I hope you are having a great weekend!

Designer Paper - Chatterbox

Holiday Cheer

This has got to be the cutest holiday paper I have ever seen. I got this at a LSS back in October and just remembered I had it. I used yesterdays bonus sketch on SCS for the layout. I did not have a stamp to match these cute penguins so I cut one out and mounted it to the tag with dimensionals and then adhered the tag with dimensionals. This paper also has glitter in certain spots (double click on the photo to see the shimmer!). I hope those little penguins make you
smile :-)

Products used:
Stamps - Holiday Treats (Papertrey Ink)
Ink - Cranberry (CTMH)
Paper - Candy Cane Lane series (Imaginisce)
Cardstock - Colonial White (CTMH), Cranberry (Misc.), Sky Blue (SU)
Embellishments - Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon (SU), Rhinestone Brad (Misc.), Dimensionals (SU)
Tools - Tag Punches (SU)

Merry & Bright Tree

I had to re-do one of my cards in the Merry & Bright Class because I ran out of red paper. The card I am replacing is the one with the red base & tree (they are all shown in a previous post). I case'd this card from a couple I saw on SCS and combined what I liked from each. The tree is paper pieced and I just love that effect! This is a very simple card, but I love the clean look of it. I hope you like it too!

Supplies used:
Stamps - Merry & Bright by SU
Ink - Black Stazon
Patterned Paper - Dashing Polka Dot by SU
Cardstock - Cream & Textured Real Red by SU
Embellishments - Old Olive Wide Grosgrain Ribbon by SU
Tools - Word Window Punch by SU
